Author Gloria Naylor to Appear at Symposium Renowned contemporary author Gloria Naylor will appear at a Drexel symposium examining her works on October 30 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Scholars from around the country will gather to present critical studies and analyses of various aspects of Naylor`s works at the symposium, "Affirming the Spirit." Naylor, whose books include the National Book Award-winning novel The Women of Brewster Place (1982), will be available to comment on the panel discussions and autograph copies of her books.

The symposium will be sponsored by Drexel`s Institute for the Humanities, African American Studies Program and the Commission on the Status of Women.
