New Programs Aimed at Coaches, Job-Seekers Drexel`s College of Evening and Professional Studies has introduced two new programs: a certificate program in coaching and a re-employment education program for business and industry employees who have lost their jobs.

Aimed at middle or high school coaches, volunteers, and undergraduate students in teaching or physical education programs, the certificate enhances students` ability to coach and manage athletes of all ages. The program consists of six courses: principles of coaching, prevention and care of athletic injuries, sports psychology, virtual coaching, an elective and a practicum.

The re-employment education offering, called the "On-Track Program," is designed for Greater Philadelphia residents who have lost their full-time jobs due to economic or business conditions. Applicants can upgrade their skills or pursue a new field through a Drexel programs or professional development courses, and may qualify for a 50 percent tuition grant.
