Eleventh Street Health Services Earns National Recognition

The Eleventh Street center treats approximately 6,000 patients per year

The Eleventh Street Health Services of Drexel University, operated by the College of Nursing and Health Professions, was recently recognized by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) as a national model of innovative care. The Center, directed by associate dean for community programs Dr. Patricia Gerrity, was also named an Edge Runner by the American Academy of Nursing and is part of the Agency for Healthcare Research & Qualities Innovation Exchange.

Eleventh Street, which was established in 1996, was the nation`s first nurse-managed health center built from the ground up. In 2009, it had approximately 25,000 patient visits.

The Center`s history and services have been highlighted in a video by the Center to Champion Nursing in America, an initiative of AARP, the AARP Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. To view the video, visit www.championnursing.org/ccna-tv.
