Domenic Ceccanecchio, the former University of Pennsylvania director of security and technical services, has joined Drexel as senior associate vice president for public safety.

Ceccanecchio served the Philadelphia Police Department for 25 years. Upon retiring from public service, he was hired as the security operations manager for public safety at Penn. During his 10 years at Penn he was responsible for developing and executing Penn’s restructuring plan, which included overseeing the construction and operation of a multi-million-dollar state-of-the-art emergency monitoring center, and a $25 million multi-year upgrade in security technologies.

Ceccanecchio will oversee the daily operations for Drexel’s Department of Public Safety and its relationship with area law enforcement.
