Goodwin College’s Applied Engineering Technology (AET) program hosted its annual AET Model Car Race Competition on Friday, March 2. Thirteen students from Burlington County Institute of Technology’s Medford Campus took part in the two-day event, during which four teams worked with AET faculty to construct motorized model race cars with changeable gear ratios. The fastest car, constructed by Nathan Roberts, Heather Beam and Brittany Hawkins, earned the highest number of points from the judges, after races with and without added weight. Participants learned about engineering and the influence of gear trains on moving objects. The winners received prizes and trophies.
