Philadelphia Business Journal Salutes Drexel Alumni The Philadelphia Business Journal recently honored six Drexel graduates as part of its “40 Under 40” feature. The “40 Under 40” recognizes “proven performers in their respective industries and communities” that are under 40 years old. The Drexel alumni included on the list are: Manik Arora, a 1992 College of Engineering graduate who is president and CEO of Arora Engineers, Inc., a Chadds Ford, Pa.-based firm that provides mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and special systems design and consulting engineering and construction and project management services emphasizing systems in secure environments. Dr. Theodore Corbin, a 1997 Drexel University College of Medicine graduate who is a clinical instructor at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and medical director of the Jefferson Community Violence Prevention Program. Seth A. Eaker, a 2004 LeBow College of Business MBA graduate who is the principal of Black Marble Consulting LLC and Oceanus Life Management LLC. Black Marble helps clients with strategic documents and Oceanus offers personal-finance consulting. Eaker won the 2004 Laurence A. Baiada Center for Entrepreneurship in Technology’s Business Plan Competition. Nitin Khanna, a 2001 College of Engineering graduate who is president and co-founder of OmPay, a Philadelphia-based company that offers cash-less solutions through a single payment device for parking meters, garages, taxis and transit that can be pre-paid or account linked to a credit card or checking account. OmPay has partnered with the Philadelphia Parking Authority on the SmartCard program. OmPay is incubated in the Baiada Center. Gagan Lakhmna, a 1995 LeBow College MBA graduate who is principal of Creating Real Estate Innovations, a Philadelphia firm that develops luxury condominiums, townhouses and apartments, including the Nouveau, American Loft, 101 Walnut and Northern Life communities. Jamila Payne, a 2000 Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design graduate, 2006 LeBow College One Year MBA graduate and president of Milla by Mail, a company the provides busy people with convenient ways to shop, including on the Web. Her Fashion Trunk Show event features various designers selling their clothes at steep discounts. The company is also housed in the Baiada Center’s business incubator.
The honorees were recognized at the Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” awards ceremony in May.
