Drexel Brightens Holidays for West Philadelphia Children Drexel`s first toy drive to benefit the children of West Philadelphia met with great success as more than 1,000 gifts were presented to neighborhood non-profit agencies for distribution.
Assistance was provided by Michael Karp, owner of University City Housing Co., Moreland Investments, Inc., and The Tierney Group. Joseph Cascerceri, vice president for government and community relations, and Eric Kretschman spearheaded the Drexel toy drive.
Recipient organizations included West Powelton Concerned Citizens, Parents Against Drugs, West Philadelphia Partnership, Philadelphia Enterprise Center, Dunlap Concerned Citizens, West Philadelphia Empowerment Zone, Spruce Hill Community Association, Walnut Hill Community Association, Children`s Seashore House and YMCA Family Center.
The event was highlighted by music of the St. Maria Goretti High Concert Choir.
