Dr. James Spotila Publishes Book on Sea Turtles
Dr. James R. Spotila, L.D. Betz Chair Professor of Environmental Science, has published the book Sea Turtles: A Complete Guide to their Biology, Behavior and Conservation (The Johns Hopkins University Press).
The book, which is illustrated by renowned nature photographers, offers a comprehensive account of the evolutionary history of sea turtles, their physiology, life cycle and behavior. The book covers the seven species of sea turtles and explains sea turtle conservation activities.
Royalties from the sale of the book will benefit the Leatherback Trust, an organization working to prevent the extinction of the leatherback and other sea turtles. For more information on the organization, visit www.leatherback.org.
