Joseph Jacovini Esq., Hon. ’04, chairman of the Drexel Board of Trustees, and Manuel Stamatakis, chairman of the Philadelphia Health and Education Corporation (PHEC) Board of Trustees recently announced new appointments to the University and PHEC boards of trustees.

The six new members of the Drexel board are: Carol Ammon, chairman and CEO of Endo Pharmaceuticals; Abbie Dean, communications and marketing consultant; Brian Ford, Mid-Atlantic area industry leader for retail, distribution and manufacturing, director of gaming industry services for Ernst & Young LLP; Hugh C. Long, Pennsylvania/Delaware State CEO, Wachovia Corporation; Denis O’Brien ’87, president of PECO Energy; and Ray Westphal ’59, Hon. ’02, co-founder and chairman of Vertex Inc.

The board of the Drexel University College of Medicine has appointed three new members: David E. Knoll ’66, retired Sun Company Inc. senior vice president of Northeast Refining and Chemicals and Drexel trustee from 1992-2004; Harold W. Pote, regional banking group executive with JPMorgan Chase and Drexel trustee since 1996; and Randolph H. Waterfield ’55, a retired partner of Ernst & Young LLP, and a Drexel trustee from 1984-2004.
