Renowned Museum Consultant to Speak at Westphal Gallery

Dr. Philip Zimmerman, museum and American decorative arts consultant, will present “Drexel University’s 18th Century Astronomical Clock and Its Maker, David Rittenhouse, American Genius” in the Westphal Picture Gallery on April 19 at 3 p.m. The free lecture is being held in conjunction with the Philadelphia Antiques Show, which will be held at the Armory on the University City Main Campus.

Zimmerman, the former director of museum collections at Winterthur, is the author of numerous books and articles, such as The Sewell C. Biggs Collection of American Art: A Catalogue and Seeing Things Differently. His clients include the Connecticut Historical Society and the Columbus Museum of Art.
