The University will host the 12th Annual For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics Philadelphia Regional Competition at the Daskalakis Athletic Center on March 27-29. Drexel is co-sponsoring the competition with PECO Energy.

Approximately 300,000 students will participate in regional competitions across the country this year. Forty-four teams from the United States and one from Brazil will compete at Drexel. Winners will compete in the FIRST national competition in Houston on April 10-12.

The Philadelphia regional event relies on the support of 125 volunteers per day, approximately 75 percent of whom are members of the Drexel community. Drexel students have also been helping FIRST by mentoring local teams.
