College of engineering Honors Distinguished Alumni

The College of Engineering presented its Circle of Distinction Awards to alumni on Honors Day, held during Engineers Week. This year’s recipients were Nelson Braddy ’71, founder and president of King of Texas Roofing Company; Dr. Joseph Carleone ’68, ’70, ’72, president of Aerojet Fine Chemicals; Dr. Paul Cooper ’57, consultant and author; Karen Jehanian ’82, president of KMJ Consulting, Inc.; Donald Logan ’52, chief executive officer and founder of Stresscon Corporation; W. Thomas Mitchell ’69, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Genencor International, Inc.; Paul Richards ’87, NASA astronaut and mission specialist; Dr. Edward C. Ross ’64, president of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. North America; Debra Shapiro-Ross ’77, chemical engineer; and Ron Vidal ’83, group vice president, new ventures and investor relations, Level 3 Communications. Following the ceremony, the recipients were guests of President and Mrs. Papadakis for dinner at their residence, The Orchards.
