Why We Give

Congratulations to senior basketball team member Gabriella Marginean on setting the Philadelphia Division One all-time women’s scoring record. Please join me in wishing Gabriela and the women’s team best of luck in the upcoming Colonial Athletic Association tournaments. In addition to our athletic teams, there is much to be excited about at Drexel, as our campuses continue to be transformed through construction and completion of new projects, and our academic programs, students and faculty continue to receive national and international recognition.

Drexel’s success is due in part to the generosity of our faculty and staff. Not only do our employees demonstrate their commitment to Drexel through service to our students, they also do so through

contributions to our Annual Fund. With the help of employees’ gifts, we continue to make a Drexel

education accessible through financial aid

and scholarships. The philanthropic efforts of our faculty and staff also support cutting-edge research and physical, academic and recreational program expansion. This support is essential for Drexel’s continued development as a top-tier university.

The Office of Institutional Advancement recently kicked off “Why I Give,” the 2010 faculty and staff annual campaign. One reason why so many members of the Drexel community give to the University is because it is an investment in our future, supporting the education of tomorrow’s leaders.

The University has a long philanthropic tradition. Anthony J. Drexel established the University to provide quality higher education that prepares students, regardless of religion, race, gender or economic means, for success in a changing world.

The “Why I Give” campaign will run through May 10. I hope you will join your colleagues by supporting the University through this worthwhile opportunity. Together, we can continue Anthony J. Drexel’s legacy and make a difference. For more information about the campaign, visit www. drexel.edu/ia/ annualfund/WHYIGIVE.
