New Student Orientation: January 5Mark your calendars! All students enrolled in any master's program will gather at the Center for Graduate Studies for Orientation on Monday, January 5, at 6:00 p.m. The Orientation will last 50 minutes and will be followed by either a class (for MBA candidates) or camaraderie (for students in all other programs).
Course Registration Open for January ClassesAll students starting in January must register for class, even those who are in a cohort-degree program where the courses are already set. At Drexel, registration begins with a personal discussion with your academic advisor. Every student has an advisor — to learn who your advisor is, please go to our Enrollment Guide, where you'll find information especially for admitted students.

Drexel Quickly Approved by California Credentialing CommissionBeginning next September, Drexel's School of Education will offer a master's degree in Science of Instruction at the center in support of math, science, and technology competencies in elementary and secondary education. Right before Thanksgiving, the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) welcomed Drexel to California by formally approving the University as an educational provider for grades pre-kindergarten through 12. The next step in the regulatory process will occur later this month, when Drexel submits its specific programs of study to the CTC. Students will have the option to obtain a Multiple Subject or Single Subject Teaching Credential (in areas of biology, chemistry, earth and planetary science, English, general science, mathematics, or physics) or certification with the MS degree. The School of Education also plans to offer certifications in Special Education and Administrative Services, with the option of pursuing an Ed D.
Pakistan's Supreme Court Chief Justice Visits Drexel
Justice Chaudhry addressed issues related to the political and legal turmoil, including the suspension of that country's constitution in 2007, that has plagued Pakistan. Justice Chaudhry's visit to Drexel Law was especially important as he is at the center of a movement to reinstate his seat on Pakistan's Supreme Court. Justice Chaudhry was removed from his post by former President Pervez Musharraf.

College of Nursing in National Spotlight for "Most Innovative Solution" to Health Care Access
The AAN's recent "Raise the Voice" campaign cited the College of Nursing and Health Profession's 11th Street Family Health Services Center as one of three national models providing a powerful example of nurse-led solutions that are currently tackling serious health care challenges. The health center is featured in a new video produced by the academy that will be used for policy makers as one of this country's two most innovative solutions to promoting access to care. Patricia Gerrity, RN, PhD, FAAN, associate dean for community programs, and Donna Shalala Hon. '07, the nation's longest-serving U.S. secretary of Health and Human Services (from 1993 to 2001), are featured in the film. The video is available to be viewed on YouTube.
