Dear Colleagues:
Great things happen at Drexel University and the Drexel University College of Medicine
every day. Learning, discovery and healing are our stock in trade. While everything we do
at Drexel benefits society, we come together annually for The Dragon Drive, which truly
highlights our service to the community.
The Dragon Drive makes it easy and convenient for faculty and staff to support a variety
of worthy causes in our local community represented by these organizations:
• AIDS Fund
• Bread & Roses Community Fund
• Environmental Fund for Pennsylvania
• United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania
• Women’s Way
Faculty and staff always respond superbly to the Dragon Drive. Since the Drive began
in 2001, we have raised a total of $432,000 to help meet human needs throughout the
Delaware Valley. Over the course of the 2007 Dragon Drive, we hope to raise $100,000
for the first time.
A sense of satisfaction and a tax deduction have always benefited those who support
the Dragon Drive, but this year the names of all contributors will also be entered into a
drawing. Contributors could win some fantastic prizes including a $500 gift certificate
from Marathon Travel for travel services, a deluxe weekend for two at The Westin
Philadelphia, a one-night weekend stay at the Club Quarters in Center City, and more.
People often wonder, “Should I bother to give when I can’t afford very much?” The
answer is YES! A major goal of the Dragon Drive is to increase employee participation.
Whatever size donation you feel comfortable giving will be appreciated and will help
strengthen our University’s sense of community. And remember, the payroll deduction
method makes giving easy and can spread your gift over the entire year.
Please support the Dragon Drive in 2007. You can make a difference in addressing disease,
injustice, environmental threats, gender issues and the social service needs of this
region. If you want to keep your gift close to home, note that the Eleventh Street Family
Health Services Center, operated by Drexel’s College of Nursing and Health Professions,
provides quality health care to vulnerable North Philadelphia residents and can be supported
by using code 14489 on your pledge form.
For more information, please consult this campaign booklet, contact the campaign

Thank you in advance for coming together and supporting the 2007 Dragon Drive.
