The Division of Student Life, Project Ace, Magnificent Minds, the Women's Studies
Program, Panhellenic Association, Campus Activities Board (CAB), Recreational
Sports and Women's Health Education Program are sponsoring the University's
2004 Women's History Month activities. The schedule of events includes:

This discussion on current issues and the political climate as it relates
to women in Albania featuring Sonila Danaj of the University of Tirana, Albania,
will be held on Wednesday, March 3 from 3- 4:30 p.m. in MacAlister Hall rooms
2019/2020 (33rd and Chestnut Streets). An exchange program with Albania was
designed by Dr. Julie Mostov (above second row), associate professor
of History and Politics and director of International Studies.
Adichie, author of the novel The Purple Hibiscus, will be at the Drexel
Bookstore (33rd and Chestnut Streets) on Thursday, March 4, at 2 p.m. Light
refreshments will be served.
Women's Sports Services founder Becky Heidesch and Chief Operating Officer
Mary Lou Youngblood will participate in a one-hour teleconference for women
interested in careers in sports on Saturday, March 6 at noon.

The event, held Wednesday, March 10 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Creese Student
Union Complex lobby (32nd and Chestnut Streets), will help the Drexel community
learn more about the Violence Against Women Consortium grant the University
has received in partnership with the University of Pennsylvania and University
of the Sciences of Philadelphia. Refreshments will be provided.
This year's event focuses on health concerns for Latinas. The program, to
be held on Tuesday, March 16 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., is developed for second-year
medical students at the Drexel University College of Medicine.
Janet Bickel, author, career development and diversity coach and former director
of women in medicine programs for the Association of American Medical Colleges,
will present "Confessions of a Tempered Radical: Leading Change in a Half-Changed
World for Women in Medicine" on Wednesday, March 17, at 6:15 p.m. at the College
of Physicians of Philadelphia (19 S. 22nd Street). The event is sponsored
by the Drexel University College of Medicine, the Institute for Women's Health
and Leadership and the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. Lynn Yeakel
(above first row) is the director of the University's Institute for Women's
Health and Leadership.

Experts in areas such as female body image, gender differences in sports media
and the importance of female role models will participate in a panel discussion
on Thursday, March 18, from 2-3:30 p.m. in the Paul Peck Alumni Center (32nd
and Market Streets). Light refreshments will be served and door prizes awarded.
