Circle K's Oxfam Hunger Banquet Tonight

Circle K invites Drexel students to participate in an Oxfam Hunger Banquet/Canned Food Drive tonight, November 15, 2007, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the sixth floor of MacAlister Hall (33rd and Chestnut Streets).

The Oxfam Hunger Banquet builds awareness about the world-wide problem of hunger. In the United States, over 24.4 million people, including 11.8 million children, have lower-quality diets or must seek emergency food aid because they cannot afford the food they need. Worldwide, almost 16,000 children die from hunger-related causes every day. That's one child every five seconds.

The hunger banquet simulates life: some have plenty, others go hungry; it's the luck of the draw. Through awareness, we can start to make changes and help those in need.

Admission to the hunger banquet is free with a donation of canned food. The event is sponsored by Circle K, a Drexel service organization.

For information, contact Theresa at tmp46@drexel.edu.
