Student Life Celebrates Welcome Back Week

The Division of Student Life is celebrating the start of the new academic year with Welcome Back Week activities on the University City Main Campus Monday, September 26 through Friday, September 30, 2005. The week's events include:


Monday, September 26

Jump Into Action
11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m
MacAlister Patio (33rd and Chestnut Streets)

Discover what Recreational Sports and the Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) can do for you! Receive information about intramurals, club sports, wellness and instructional programs, community service and volunteering at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Discover employment opportunities, as well as what the Daskalakis Athletic Center (DAC) and the CCE have to offer. Enjoy food, music and interactive games including Pop-A-Shot. Freshmen will pick up their cultural passports here.

Drexel Night at Citizens Bank Park
Game time: 7:05 p.m.

Join your classmates and friends for a night of Phillies, phood and phun. And better yet... tickets are only $5, and tokens and public transportation will be provided. Call 215-895-2506 for details on how to pick-up any remaining tickets.

Vote for the "Perfect Pizza" as vendors from around the University City area tempt your taste buds with their ultimate pizza recipes. If pizza is not enough, join in a round robin tournament of video-game fun. Just follow the dragon paw prints. Participate in the Commuter Raffle where you can win anything from a Mini iPod to SEPTA tokens. Winners do not have to be present to win. Winning numbers will be posted on the Commuter Web site.

Help Hurricane Katrina Victims
Contributions to the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Fund will be collected at daytime Welcome Back Week events. Those who donate will receive Mardi Gras beads or a patriotic pencil.


Celebrate the Constitution
Drexel celebrated the 218th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17 - the day designated by the federal government as Constitution Day - with a variety of initiatives. Students can pick up their own copies of the Constitution at Welcome Back Week events and test their knowledge of the document to win prizes at a Quizzo game held at Ross Commons on Thursday, September 29 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
