Celebrate Founders Day & Convocation
Founders Day & Convocation -
Tuesday, October 7th
Join the University and celebrate.
Drexel University’s
Founders Day & Convocation is scheduled for Tuesday,
October 7, 2003. Convocation celebrates the beginning of the academic year.
The Convocation ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. in the auditorium of the
Main Building at 32nd and Chestnut Streets.
Classes will be cancelled
from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the University City Main
Campus to allow members of the Drexel community to attend this important
function. Faculty and students in the Health Sciences need to check with their
program directors for class schedules on that day.
This will be the first year
that the Office of the Provost is being charged with
organizing the day’s events. Accordingly, the Provost is intent on placing
the
faculty and students at the heart of Founders Day & Convocation celebrations.
This year the procession
is scheduled to begin in the Quad, weather
permitting. Note also that if the outdoor procession is possible, students will
be
invited to walk with the faculty of their Colleges and/or Schools.
Mark your calendars and
plan to join the University as we celebrate the beginning
of a new year.
Faculty can order regalia
from the bookstore by Thursday, September 25.
For more information, call 215-895-4927.
