Drexel Mock Trial Association's Summer 2007 Competition
The Drexel Mock Trial Association, in conjunction with the prelaw program, is accepting applications from individuals interested in participating in the first intramural, mock trial competition on Saturday, August 25, 2007. Prizes will be awarded to competitors.
No prior mock trial experience is necessary. Coaching will be a mandatory part of competition preparation. Coaching will be offered by students with prior mock trial experience, law students and area attorneys.

Open House for Executive Master of Science in IT Leadership on Thursday

Engineering a Better World
The Drexel chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) will present the "Engineering a Better World" conference from today, July 9 through Thursday, July 12, 2007, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the William F. Delta Zeta to Hold Popsicle Sale on Thursday
Delta Zeta will sell popsicles in the Quad (between 32nd and 33rd Streets and Chestnut and Market Streets) on Thursday, July 12, 2007, from noon to 2 p.m. to benefit the Sound Beginnings program.
Delta Zeta has been involved with service to speech and hearing organizations for more than five decades. Sound Beginnings raises awareness of the need for newborn hearing screenings. It is important to identify hearing loss before 6 months of age to begin early intervention, if needed.

Drexel University Procurement will host a vendor fair with representatives from VWR/McConnell Supply Groups, July 11, 2007, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Queen Lane Medical Campus' Atrium (2900 Queen Lane). Lunch vouchers will be given out to be used at the Queen Lane Medical Campus cafeteria only.
The fair is part of the University Procurement announcement of The VWR/McConnell Supply Group's initiative, which offers specially priced VWR products to Drexel through the minority-owned McConnell Group.
Attendees are encouraged to come prepared with questions about products and new promotions being offered by vendors supplying the health sciences campuses.

SCDC to Hold Independent Job Search Workshop
The Career Services library assistant will hold a workshop titled "Conducting Your Independent Job Search at the Library" on Thursday, July 11, 2007, at 2 p.m. in Room L-33/34, Hagerty Library (33rd and Market Streets).
The workshop will introduce students to a variety of print and electronic library resources that will assist in the independent job search process. Students will learn how to use the library's electronic databases to generate lists of potential employers in their fields of interest.

Philadelphia to Host the IFC Free Film Fest
The Independent Film Channel (IFC) Free Film Fest is a traveling festival bringing independent films to parks across the country this summer. In Philadelphia, IFC will present three movies in three nights outside and under the stars on Schuylkill Banks: Raising Arizona, The Princess Bride and Napoleon Dynamite.
The movies will be shown at Schuylkill River Park (Locust and 25th Streets) on July 10, 11 and 12, 2007.
IFC Free Film Fest will showcase local filmmakers in the Media Lab Lounge.
IFC is partnering with the nonprofit organization, Kid Flicks, which is collecting donations of G, PG and PG-13 DVDs for a new entertainment library at Temple University Children’s Medical Center. Donations will be collected at the screenings.
