Commencement 2008

The University’s 121st Commencement will take place in four ceremonies at 8:30 a.m., noon, 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at the John A. Daskalakis Athletic Center (33rd and Market Streets). The full schedule for Commencement is as follows:

Honorary degree recipient: Carl C. Icahn, financial and philanthropic visionary

Dean George P. Tsetsekos Appointed to Economic Advisory Council

Dr. George P. Tsetsekos (above), dean of the LeBow College of Business, has been appointed to the Economic Advisory Council, a new council at The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. The Council will advise Federal Reserve officials on regional business conditions and economic issues that have an impact on the marketplace.

According to the Federal Reserve, this newly created council replaces its former Business Council. It includes representatives from the tourism, healthcare, retail and food industries and organized labor, representing more of the region's economic base and a broader geographic area.

The Council will include the former members of the Business Council, including Drexel trustee Renee Amoore, president and CEO, the Amoore Group.

CAB to Host Free Back Massages During Finals Today

The Campus Activities Board (CAB) will sponsor free back massages to relieve the stress from taking finals today, June 12, 2008, from noon to 2 p.m. in the Creese Student Center (32nd and Chestnut Streets).

CAB will also continue to host events throughout the summer term.
