Main Building Renovations Announced
The University will be renovating the west entrance to the Main Building during
the spring and summer of 2005.
The entrance will be transformed with new lighting and finishes more appropriate to the building. The corridor will be enhanced with a sloped walkway that will replace the stairs and provide a more graceful and functional entry to the Main Building from 32nd Street. In conjunction with this renovation, the existing elevator will be modernized to include automatic door openings.
This work will require the west entrance to be closed from Monday, June 13 through Monday, July 11, 2005. The elevator will be closed for construction work from July 11 through November 11, 2005. Departments whose events, dates, or situations may be adversely affected by these closings may discuss their concerns with Kimberly Miller at 215-895-6876 or Kyle Kephart at 215-895-2831.

Student Life and Administrative Services

Hall room 103 (33rd Street between Market and Chestnut Streets). Refreshments

D3 to Discuss the Ethics of Dying
Dinner and Discussion at
Drexel (D3) will hold a provocative discussion of questions relevant to students
in many majors in the humanities and sciences at 5 p.m. today, May 25, 2005
in the University Club (sixth floor MacAlister Hall, 33rd and Chestnut Streets).
The discussion will begin with a powerful film about a dying English professor that raises questions about the ethics of experimental treatment, the experience of dying, patient-physician/nurse communication, the power of poetry, empathy and self reflection, and the possibility of healing when there is no medical care.
This program was originally scheduled for February 24, 2005, but was postponed because of snow.
D3 - food for thought and food for the body - is sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences. For more information, contact Dr. Emilie S. Passow in the department of English and philosophy at ep43@drexel.edu.
