Drexel's Storyteller to Offer "The Conclusion of
the Story of Jubei Yagyu" Tonight
"The Conclusion of the Story of Jubei Yagyu ..." will be offered tonight, April 20, 2006 from 7-8:30 p.m. in Myers Hall Tutor Lounge (33rd and Race Streets). Repeated by popular demand, storyteller Philip Poczik, coordinator of multicultural programs, will share The Story of Jubei Yagyu in its entirety.
The event is brought to you by Creating Excellent Organizations and is part of Cultural Celebration Week.

The College of Nursing and Health Professions' doctor of physical therapy program
will hold its second annual dodgeball tournament tonight, April 20, 2006 at
6:30 p.m. in the Daskalakis Athletic Center (33rd and Market Streets).
The cost is $5 per person, 10 players to a team. Registration is open to students, faculty and staff. Participants can register as teams or as individuals (and will be assigned to a team). All proceeds benefit the Pittsburgh-Marquette Challenge and the Foundation for Physical Therapy, which supports research in the field.

Vendor Fair at Main Campus - for DU and DUCoM
University Procurement invites all faculty and staff to attend Drexel's first
Vendor Fair Monday, April 24, 2006 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in Behrakis Grand
Hall (32nd and Chestnut Streets).
More than 50 vendors will present their newest products, services, equipment and state-of-the-art research and medical products. Vendors with employee discount programs will discuss how they can save Drexel and Drexel University College of Medicine employees money on their products and services.
Staff members from the University Procurement and Accounts Payable departments will be available for comments and suggestions and to answer questions. Plan to attend Drexel's first Vendor Fair and get some free vendor give-a-ways and a chance at numerous door prizes. Bring your business cards to enter door prize drawings.

WKDU-FM to Host Ice Cream Social
Drexel's student-run radio station WKDU-FM (91.7) will host an ice cream social on Thursday, April 27, 2006
at 7 p.m. at its studio in the lower level of the Creese Student Center,
behind the Commuter Lounge (32nd and Chestnut Streets).
All students are invited to visit Drexel's free-format radio station, meet the staff and learn how to become a DJ. Ice cream and ice cream substitutes for the lactose intolerant/avoiders of dairy products will be provided. For more information, email info@wkdu.org.

Students are invited to come out to Ross Commons (34th Street and Powelton Avenue)
tonight, April 20, 2006 from 7-9 p.m. and cast their vote to select the
first Drexel Idol. Each performer will sing three songs and your votes are needed
to pick the winner. This event will take place at the 2nd Floor along with the
all-you-can-eat pasta special.

Campus Consortium to Screen No! Tonight
No!, a film about
a woman's right to refuse - any time, any where - will be screened
today, April 20, 2006 at 5 p.m. in the Bossone Research
Enterprise Center auditorium (Market Street between 31st and 32nd Streets).
Filmmaker Aishah Simmons will discuss the film after the screening.
The event is sponsored by the Campus Community Consortium (Drexel University, University of Pennsylvania, University of the Sciences in Philadelphia) to address issues of sexual assault, date violence and stalking, with participation by the College of Engineering, multicultural programs, Africana studies, women's studies, and international area studies.

Drexel Libraries to Sponsor Scholarly Communication Symposium
Drexel University Libraries will host a mini symposium on Friday, April 28, 2006 from 8:30
a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Paul Peck Alumni Center (32nd and Market Streets).
Three speakers will share their perspectives on the issues of Scholarly Communication in Science and the Humanities, considering such questions as how the digital age has transformed the ways scholars exchange ideas, how this will impact our intellectual growth in the future, and what this means to the academic careers of faculty and students.

Steinbright Career Development Center to Hold Networking Night
The Steinbright Career Development Center will hold a Networking Night on Wednesday,

Student Academic Resources Workshop: Transition to Quarter System
The Center for Student Academic
Resources will present the workshop "Transitioning from Semesters to Quarters"
on Wednesday, April 26, 2006 from noon-1 p.m. on the Center City Hahnemann Campus
in New College Building Conference Room C (245 N. 15th Street).
Attendees will be able to voice their thoughts about possible financial aid changes, adjusting study habits to adapt to the pace of the quarter system and how they might need to be proactive in seeking academic/tutorial support.

Dragonfire Nominated for EPpy Award
Dragonfire, Drexel's fully interactive multimedia online magazine published
once every two weeks by the Pennoni Honors College under the direction of Editor-in-Chief
Amy Webb, was nominated for a 2006 EPpy Award for "Best
Use of Rich Media in an Internet Service Under One Million Unique Monthly Visitors."
Other nominees in this category are projo.com (the Web site of The Providence Journal) and The Press-Enterprise in Riverside, Calif. Additional 2006 EPpy nominees include washingtonpost.com, USATODAY.com, BusinessWeek Online, Forbes.com, Slate, CNN.com and The Wall Street Journal Online.
EPpy Awards honor Internet sites that are affiliated with the media industry, and especially newspapers, television networks and affiliates, radio networks, syndicated shows, local radio stations, and magazines. EPpys are presented by Editor & Publisher and Media Week and are voted on by the nation's top journalism professionals. The awards will be presented at the Interactive Media Conference and Trade Show to be held May 18-19, 2006 in Las Vegas.

Wilma Theater to Present Two Plays by Caryl Churchill
The Wilma Theater presents a Caryl Churchill (above) Festival featuring her gender-bending
classic, Cloud 9, and her most recent Off-Broadway hit, A Number.
Praised as "audacious and savagely funny" by The Washington Post, Cloud 9 explores social class, sexuality, marriage and family. Cloud 9 runs now through Sunday, May 28, 2006. A Number is a dramatic and provocative examination of how the concept of identity is affected by modern scientific advances - in this case, by cloning. A Number will run Tuesday, May 9, 2006 through Sunday, June 4.
