SCDC to Host Information Session with CIA Reps Today
Steinbright Career Development Center will host an information session with representatives from the Support Hiring Division of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency today, April 17, 2008, from 5 to 7 p.m. in room 226, Creese Student Center (32nd and Chestnut Streets).
They will cover a broad range of topics including the CIA mission, potential career opportunities (within the Directorate of Support in particular) and the online application process.
Students from all majors are welcome to attend and are encouraged to bring a resume.

Steinbright Career Development Center to Hold Networking Night
The Steinbright Career Development Center will hold a networking night for all students on Thursday, May 1, 2008, from 4 to 6 p.m. in Behrakis Grand Hall (32nd and Chestnut Streets).
Students from all class years will have an opportunity to meet and interact with employers during this casual networking event to get advice about job objectives and career paths, establish new connections, learn about employment trends and more.

Last Chance for Class of 2008 Graduation Photos
The final opportunity to sit for 2008 senior class portraits will take place Monday, April 21 through Wednesday, April 23, 2008 in room 3012, MacAlister Hall (33rd and Chestnut Street).
All students having their portrait taken will receive a complimentary Lexerd yearbook.
To schedule an appointment, log onto Carl Wolf Studio’s 24-hour scheduling Web site at http://www.cwsouryear.com, and enter Drexel’s school code 87172.
Appointments can also be scheduled by calling 1-800-687-9327 during normal business hours.

MEM Spring Seminar Series to Present Lecture
The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics will present a lecture, "Mechanobiology of Microbubble-induced Cellular Injury in the Pulmonary System,” on Friday, April 18, 2008, from 2 to 3 p.m. in room162, Curtis Hall (32nd and Chestnut Streets).
Dr. Samir Ghadiali, assistant professor in the bioengineering department of Lehigh University will discuss the use of microbubble flows in biomedical applications including the enhancement of ultrasound images, drug delivery and cancer treatment; the damage that can arise from their use and the development of methods to minimize injury to the patient.

Bread and Puppet Theater Company to Perform on the Quad This Weekend
The Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design will present the Bread and Puppet Theater Company in a performance of the “Divine Reality Comedy Circus” on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at 4 p.m. on the Quad (between Chestnut and Market Streets and 32nd and 33rd Streets).
Here for a two-day residency beginning Friday, April 18, the unique Bread and Puppet Theater Company will hold a series of workshops that teach the art of street theater, including how to create puppets and how to generate public awareness for a cause.
The theater company has performed for over 40 years, from the spectacle of its larger-than-life puppets at Vietnam War protests in New York City to the pageantry of its long-running (over 25 years) annual event, "Our Domestic Resurrection Circus" in Glover, Vermont.
The performance is free and open to the public.

Business Plan Development Workshop Series
The Laurence A. Baiada Center for Entrepreneurship in Technology is hosting its spring/summer workshop series every Saturday morning through May 3, 2008 in the Baiada Center (ground floor, 3225 Arch Street).
Sessions kick-off at 9:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast, and instruction begins promptly at 10 a.m.
The Baiada Center's Business Plan Development Workshops are designed for Drexel student teams who are developing business plans for submission to the 2008 Business Plan Competition. Individual and group support is provided by the Baiada team of mentors throughout this series.
Winning teams in the 2008 competition will be awarded $1,000 in cash and may be given the opportunity to compete in the Baiada Incubator Competition, where cash and in-kind prizes of more than $75,000 will be awarded.

International Movie: 10 Questions for the Dalai Lama (Documentary)

Facilitator: the Venerable Lama Losang Samten
This movie is an award-winning documentary that poses a montage of challenging questions to the Dalai Lama about topics from society and tradition, to violence and poverty. Filmmaker Rick Ray also examines some of the fundamental questions of our time through breathtaking views of India and the Middle East's spiritual past as well as commentary from the Dalai Lama.
After the screening, the Venerable Lama Losang Samten, a renowned Tibetan scholar, spiritual teacher and artist, will lead an informal discussion. Losang became a Buddhist monk at the age of 11. He later joined the Namgyal Monastery, becoming a personal attendant to His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama. Since coming to the U.S. in 1988, Losang has founded several Tibetan Buddhist Centers. Drexel Democrats to Host Town Hall Discussion: Obama and Clinton
The Drexel Democrats will host a town hall meeting on Friday, April 18, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Living Arts Lounge adjacent to Mandell Theater,(33rd and Chestnut streets).
This meeting will include a discussion on the policies of the Democratic candidates, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, and the differences between them.
The purpose of the event is to open discussion between the panel and audience and answer any questions they have about the candidates before the Pennsylvania primary on April 22.

Alpha Phi Omega to Host Pistis Orphanage Community Project
The Brothers of Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity, will host a community project that benefits the Pistis Academy and Orphanage in Nakuru, Kenya on Saturday, April 19, 2008, from noon to 2 p.m. in the Hill Conference Room, second floor of LeBow Engineering Center (31st and Market Streets).
Members of the University community are invited to pack educational packages and write inspirational letters to children in an orphanage in Kenya with the brothers of Alpha Phi Omega. Two students who volunteered last summer at the orphanage in Kenya will share their experiences in Kenya.

CAB to Host a Trip to Musical Hairspray
The Campus Activities Board (CAB) will host a trip to see the musical Hairspray on Sunday, May 4, 2008, for the 1 p.m. show at the Academy of Music (Broad and Locust Streets).
Hairspray takes place in 1962 in Baltimore, and tells the story of Tracy Turnbald, a teenager whose dream is to dance on “The Corny Collins Show,” a local TV dance program.
Tickets go on sale Monday, April 21 at 5:30 p.m. and are $15 each, with SEPTA tokens included. Tickets can be purchased at the CAB Office Monday through Thursday from noon to 1 p.m. and from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., and Friday from noon to 1 p.m. Ultima Funds are accepted

Great Works Symposium: "Current Topics in American Medical Education"
The Spring 2008 Great Works Symposium (UNIV 241) on "Modern Medicine" will present a panel discussion "Current Topics in American Medical Education" today, April 17, 2008, from 6 to 7:20 p.m. in room 108, Disque Hall (32nd Street between Market and Chestnut Streets).
The panel will address the virtues of broad versus focused premedical education; how to promote diversity and assess merit in medical school admissions; the problems and promise of trends in medical school curricula, such as "evidence-based medicine"; how to teach medical students, residents, and fellows to cultivate bedside manner; the growth of specialization and the role of medical schools in cultivating a diverse medical workforce; the costs and benefits of a shorter workweek for residents; plus other topics as they arise.
The panelists will include Dr. Cheryl A. Hanau, associate dean for admissions at Drexel University College of Medicine (DUCoM); Dr. Nancy D. Spector, associate residency program director and associate chair of education and faculty development in the Department of Pediatrics (DUCoM); Dr. Andrew McInnes, chief pediatric resident at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children; and Marcelo Malakooti, a fourth year medical student at DUCoM. The panel will be moderated by Dr. Stephen F. Gambescia, assistant dean of academic and student affairs at the Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions.

CAB to Host Free Screening Tonight: Charlie Wilson's War
