Facebook Co-Founder Chris Hughes to Speak at Drexel Votes 2008 Rally Today
As part of Drexel Votes 2008, Chris Hughes (above), cofounder of Facebook, will speak at a voter registration rally today, March 13, 2008, at 12:30 p.m. in The Quad (Between Market and Chestnut and 32nd and 33rd Streets).
Zachary Stalberg, president and CEO of the Committee of Seventy and former editor of the Philadelphia Daily News will also be speaking.
Volunteers will register fellow Drexel students to vote at the non-partisan rally while Hughes speaks about the role of social networking sites like Facebook in uniting people for social and political causes.
Refreshments will be served at the free public event hosted by Drexel Votes 2008.

LeBow College Student Wins Prize at Philadelphia Flower Show
Emily Greenberg, a freshman in the LeBow College of Business, was awarded second place for her entry in the Costume Class (above), a division of the Competitive Arrangement Class, at the Philadelphia Flower Show. Her arrangement was an interpretive floral design inspired by a costume submitted by a student from the University of the Arts. The goal of the Costume Class is to show the synergies between creative fashion design and creative floral design. Although the costumes were designed by art students, Emily was the only student floral exhibitor in this class.

Late Night Series Tonight: First-Ever Performance of Drexel's Rock Ensemble
Late Night Series Philadelphia, a weekly open-mic sponsored by the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design, presents the debut of Drexel's Rock Ensemble today, March 13, 2008, at 8:30 p.m. in the Lobby of the Creese Student Center (33rd and Chestnut Streets).
With 3 drummers, 2 guitarists, a bass guitarist, keyboardist, 2 vocalists and a violinist/vocalist, the Rock Ensemble uses original arrangements and instrumentation to put a new twist on old favorites. Their set will include songs by Led Zeppelin, Rod Stewart, The Cars and Melissa Etheridge.
The Rock Ensemble has been recording for the past several years, but will perform for the first time at the Late Night Series, under the direction of Joe Napoli.
LNS is free and open to the public.

Baiada Breakfast Forum Today: "The Democratization of Entrepreneurship: Let Me In"
The Laurence A. Baiada Center for Entrepreneurship in Technology will host an Entrepreneurial Breakfast Forum, "The Democratization of Entrepreneurship: Let Me In," today, March 13, 2008, at 7:30 a.m. in Behrakis Grand Hall (32nd and Chestnut Streets).
One of the biggest obstacles for first-time entrepreneurs is gaining access to the right players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem in order to move their ideas and companies forward. Concurrently, venture capitalists, service providers and economic development agencies seek robust pipelines of quality entrepreneurial opportunities for growth.
This panel discussion will explore ways to create a more inclusive system, where gaining better access to funding sources, service providers and advisors can concurrently increase visibility and transparency of entrepreneurial companies. Jazz Orchestra and Jazztet Concert Tonight
The Drexel Jazz Orchestra and Jazztet along with the Spelman College Jazz Ensemble will present the Jazz Extravaganza IX today, March 13, 2008, at 8 p.m. in Mandell Theater (33rd and Chestnut Streets).
The nationally renowned all female Spelman College Jazz Ensemble will appear in concert with the Drexel University Jazz Orchestra for an evening of music dedicated to the jazz greats including compositions by Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Billy Strayhorn and Charles Mingus.

The final information sessions will be held today, March 13, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in GSDC Conference Room A and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in GSDC Conference Room A
Any new full-time undergraduate student organization formed after January 31, 2008, is not eligible to apply for an FY ‘09 Annual Allocation.

Buffet Dinner Tonight: "A Night on the Mediterranean"
The Italian Students Organization, Turkish Student Association, Hillel and Alpha Epsilon Pi will host "A Night on the Mediterranean" today, March 13, 2008, from 7 to 10 p.m. in Behrakis Grand Hall (32nd and Chestnut Streets). Office of Student Life Workshop Today: Social Justice in Health Care
The Office of Student Life is hosting giveaways and screenings of educational videos this week as part of the year-long series "Social Justice in Health Care: Meeting the Needs of Each Individual Patient" today, March 13, 2008, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in room 2101, New College Building (245 N 15th Street).
The goal of this series is to educate health care students about how they can better treat their patients by understanding their differences and by becoming familiar with their backgrounds, cultures and special circumstances. One week during each month of the 2007-08 academic year will be dedicated to special topics. This month's highlighted topic is the role of body image in health care.
In addition, the Office of University Student Life will create a "Social Justice in Health Care" quilt. During each week of the series, all students may decorate squares of fabric illustrating their hopes for the future of health care or to honor someone who may have suffered an injustice concerning their health. At the end of the year, the squares will be sewn together to create a quilt that will be displayed in the Center City Student Life Office.
A complimentary lunch will be provided after the discussion.

Creative Arts Therapy Celebration Today
The Creative Arts in Therapy Program in the College of Nursing and Health Professions will present drum circles with dancing in celebration of Creative Arts Therapy Week today, March 13, 2008 at noon at the Klahr Lobby, New College Building (245 N.15th Street).
This week is celebrated nationwide as a way to inform the public about the benefits of art therapy, dance/movement therapy, music therapy, poetry therapy and drama therapy.
Everyone is encouraged to celebrate CAT Week with drum and dance circles and a progressive community mural and become a part of the ongoing artistic creation. The community mural is up and waiting for expressions of health and creativity all day today. Information and tips for enhancing health and reducing stress through the arts will also be available.

Cheer on Women’s CAA Basketball: Free Tickets, Food and Transportation for Students
Drexel students will receive complimentary transportation, food and tickets courtesy of the Power of 10, the Division of Student Life and Administrative Services and the DAC Pack for every game during the CAA Women's Basketball Championships from March 13 to 16, 2008, including a pre-game stop by the student fan bus at Matilda’s Restaurant for free food.
The Dragons will be in action for the first time on Friday, March 14, at 7:30 p.m. at the Bob Carpenter Center on the campus of the University of Delaware in Newark. The student fan bus will leave the DAC at 4:30 p.m. to cheer on the Dragons and will return to Philadelphia half-an-hour following the game.
The entire Drexel community is invited to get in on the exciting Drexel women's basketball action by calling 302-831-2257or 302-984-2000 for tickets to the CAA Tournament.
Drexel fans can also catch the action live on WHAT 1340 AM as well as http://www.drexeldragons.com, with Pat Delsi and Stephanie Mix calling the games.
