School of Education Produces iPod Tours for National Constitution Center

Visitors to Philadelphia's National Constitution Center (NCC) have the opportunity to learn more about the relationship between baseball and American culture, thanks to a new iPod tour produced by the School of Education.

The exhibit, Baseball as America, opened on February 15 and will continue through May 11, 2008. The 6,000-square-foot exhibition was organized by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, N.Y., and marks the first time the treasures of the Hall of Fame have toured the United States.

The iPod tour includes a video introduction to Baseball as America. Guests are then guided through the exhibit by Harry Kalas, who has spent four decades as the announcer for the Philadelphia Phillies.

All of the technical aspects of the tour were produced in the School of Education's Research and Demonstration (RaD) Lab. The production process included recording and editing the audio, producing the photo and graphic elements, video editing, and programming the iPods.

Through the end of March, Drexel students, faculty, and staff may take part in the iPod tour for free with purchase of an admission ticket. The tour's regular prices are $2 for NCC members and $3 for non-members.

Three CEO Workshops Today

The Creating Excellent Organizations (CEO) Program will offer three workshops today.

Katie Ludgate and Stephanie Stayton of the Panhellenic Council will present "Greek History Visited" from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Tutor Lounge, Myers Hall (33rd and Race Streets).

Since 1776, fraternities have been an integral and essential part of American higher education, and Drexel University's campus life is no exception. The first fraternities were founded on our campus in 1919, and over time raternities and sororities have helped to shape the evolution of our campus. With members such as Bob Buckley, Harold Myers, John Daskalakis, Richard Greenawalt, Ray Westphal and George M. Ross, Greek-letter organizations and their members have created lifelong relationships and connections with their alma mater, Drexel University. This is only the beginning of the story of fraternities.

This workshop is designed for student organization leaders and members. This event is open to both Greek and non-affiliated students.

Brian J. Musser, Baptist campus minister, will present "Time Management is Spiritual" from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in room 2019, MacAlister Hall (33rd and Chestnut Streets).

Musser asks this question: If God made time and then made us to live with it, why do we never seem to have enough of it?

In this workshop, participants will learn how to apply spiritual principles to decisions about time management. They will learn the art of saying 'no' to something good in order to be able to say 'yes' to that which is best. They will begin a process to organize their time management decisions based on their belief systems.

Rebecca Dzara, assistant director of Campus Activities, will present "Communication Etiquette" from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in room 2020, MacAlister Hall (33rd and Chestnut Streets).

These free workshops are designed for student organization leaders and members. For more information, visit http://www.drexel.edu/oca/l/.
