Hors d'oeuvres with Dean Tsetsekos
Students will have an opportunity to meet with Dr. George P. Tsetsekos (above), dean of the LeBow College of Business, for an hour of hors d'oeuvres on Saturday, February 23, 2008, prior to the men's basketball game, from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Dragon Room of the Daskalakis Athletic Center (33rd and Market Streets). Tip-off is at 4 p.m.
Students can use this time to network, talk about their experiences at Drexel, ask questions, share concerns and learn about upcoming LeBow College events. One randomly selected attendee will receive a new generation iPod shuffle. This event is sponsored by the Undergraduate Student Government Association (USGA).

Center City Campus Free Movie Tonight: Gone Baby Gone
The Office of University Student Life is showing the movie Gone Baby Gone on the Center City Hahnemann Campus today, February 22, 2008, at 7 p.m. in Geary B Auditorium, first floor of New College Building (245 N. 15th Street). This movie screening is free for all students and their guests.
In this suspenseful movie directed by Ben Affleck, a little girl is lost on the tough streets of Dorchester in Boston. Two private detectives must risk their sanity and even their lives to take on the case. Casey Affleck, Morgan Freeman, and Ed Harris star in the movie.

Save the Date: Symposium to Feature Raj Gupta and Mark Schweiker
President Papadakis (above left) has announced that the University will host the National Commission for Cooperative Education’s Tenth Annual Corporate Symposium, “The War for Diverse and Global Talent,” on Friday, June 27, 2008.
Dr. Papadakis, chair of the National Commision for Cooperative Education, also announced the keynote speakers for the symposium: Raj. J. Gupta (above center), former Drexel trustee and alum (MBA ’71), chairman and CEO, Rohm and Haas Company and Mark Schweiker (above right), president and CEO, Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce.
The symposium will also feature a human resources “best practices” panel and a panel of university presidents.

Next Meeting of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP)
The University’s chapter of the AAUP will meet on Tuesday, March 11, 2008, from noon to 1 p.m. in room 8209 of New College Building (245 N.15th Street).
Main topics of discussion will be the corporatization of universities and its effect on faculties, and the relationship of the Drexel AAUP chapter to the state conference and the national office of the AAUP. Additional agenda items will include membership and officers.

Panel Discussion: Legal Careers in Business
LeBow College of Business and Biddle Law Society will conduct a professional panel discussion on legal careers in business on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, from 5 to 7 p.m. in room 140, College of Law Building (3320 Market Street).

Drexel's Winter 2008 Rubik's Cube Competition
Drexel's Winter 2008 Rubik's Cube Competition will be held tomorrow, Saturday, February 23, 2008, from noon to 4 p.m. on the sixth floor, MacAlister Hall (33rd and Chestnut Streets).
The event is free and open to the public. The competition is designed for Rubik's Cube solvers to have fun and determine the fastest solver on campus. Prizes will be awarded to the top competitors.
Participants are asked to bring their own Rubik's Cube.

Everything You Need to Know About Class Registration
The Office of the Provost will sponsor workshops on course registration on Monday, February 25 from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, February 26 from 3 to 6 p.m. and Wednesday, February 28, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Mary Hagerty Room, W.W. Hagerty Library (33rd and Market Streets).
With freshman course registration quickly approaching (Wednesday, March 5 and Thursday, March 6), it is important that students build their schedules ahead of time and know the system inside and out. Upperclass mentors will be facilitating workshops in the W.W. Hagerty Library that will provide students with the tools and tips necessary to enroll in the classes that they need and want.
Students are encouraged to stop in at any time. The 15 to 30 minute workshops will help ensure that the spring quarter class registration process is a smooth one. Complimentary hot food and cold beverages will be provided.

USA Today on February 20, 2008, notes the approval in its state summaries section. A Philadelphia Inquirer story was syndicated on the Web site of University Business on February 21. The Philadelphia Bar Association’s online newsletter notes the provisional accreditation on February 21.
