"Philly Pheast" Celebrates Drexel University
Visa Platinum Card and Philadelphia Eagles

Students, faculty and staff are invited to help the University celebrate two winners - the new Drexel University Visa Platinum Card and the Philadelphia Eagles - at a pep rally today, January 20, 2005 at noon in the Creese Student Union Complex Lobby (32nd and Chestnut Streets).

Join us for a "Philly Pheast" of complimentary cheesesteaks, pretzels and Tastykakes, trivia contests, music and giveaways as we welcome U.S. Bank to Philadelphia and cheer the Eagles on to victory against the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship game.

Those in attendance will learn more about U.S. Bank's new Drexel University Visa Platinum Card.

Representatives will be on hand to sign up students, faculty, staff and alumni for the Drexel Visa Platinum Card. Drexel premiums, including bobbleheads and t-shirts, will be given to those who sign up for a Card.

CEO Workshop on College Success

Creating Excellent Organizations (CEO) will hold the workshop "LASSI: Factors for Success in College" today, January 20, 2005 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Creese Student Union Complex room 050 (32nd and Chestnut Streets).

The LASSI is a 10-scale, 80-item assessment of students' awareness about and use of learning and study strategies related to skill, will and self-regulation components of strategic learning. The focus is on both covert and overt thoughts, behaviors, attitudes and beliefs that relate to successful learning and that can be altered through educational interventions.

Research has repeatedly demonstrated that these factors contribute significantly to success in college and that they can be learned or enhanced through educational interventions such as learning and study skills courses. David Hallowell, associate director of the Drexel Learning Center, is the guest speaker.

The free workshop is open to all students. For more information, visit http://www.drexel.edu/oca/leadership/ceo.html.

Buckley Field Renovation Nearing Completion

The new Buckley Field installation is almost complete. There are a few construction issues to be finalized, which in most cases are weather driven.
