The Internal Revenue Service has announced that the new business mileage reimbursement rate for business travel, effective Tuesday, January 1, 2008, will be 50.5 cents per mile, up from 48.5 cents per mile in 2007.
Additionally, the mileage rate for computing deductible medical and moving expenses will be 19 cents per mile, effective January 1, 2008, reduced from 20 cents in 2007.
The rate for providing services to charitable organizations is set by statute, not the IRS, and remains at 14 cents per mile.

All employees will be allowed 19 cents a mile for the use of a personal car during a move approved by the University, beginning January 1, 2008.
