Dear Graduate:

President Papadakis often referred to Commencement as the highlight of the academic year. Before his untimely death, he had prepared messages for all Drexel students who were anticipating graduating this year. I am pleased to share his message to you below.

C.R. “Chuck” Pennoni
Interim President

Dear Graduate:

As a member of the inaugural class of the Earle Mack School of Law, you have done much more than satisfy the requirements to receive a Juris Doctor degree—you have contributed to the creation and success of an exciting new academic tradition at Drexel University.

Now it is time to celebrate your achievements with your family, friends and professors, at Commencement 2009. We share your excitement about the next phase of your life and career.

Because of Drexel Law's unique combination of academic and real-world learning opportunities, you are graduating with experience that provides you a competitive advantage and will serve you well throughout your career.

Another advantage you have is your membership in a distinguished and diverse group of professionals and scholars worldwide: Drexel alumni. Taking part in Drexel alumni events is an excellent way to find friends and mentors. I hope you will also seek opportunities to help future Drexel law students who follow in your path.

The University is committed to serving your continuing educational needs. I encourage you to maintain your ties with Drexel by participating in the life of the University.

Congratulations and best wishes!

Constantine Papadakis, Ph.D.
