Past Honorary Degree Recipients

Dear Graduate:

You are graduating from one of the world's best medical or health sciences programs, and I congratulate you on this outstanding achievement. Whatever your next career or educational goal, I know that you will be among the best-prepared people in your field.

I am proud of you, and proud that Drexel University has so successfully brought our commitment to technology into academic medicine and health sciences education. Many of this year's graduating students have contributed to the growing excellence of our medical research enterprise. Others have taken part in groundbreaking educational initiatives including online and co-op nursing programs, or helped make our communities healthier through efforts such as the 11th Street Family Health Services of Drexel University or the local and national outreach of the School of Public Health, which continues to play a leading role in the discussion of American health policy.

Under the leadership of Dean Richard Homan of the College of Medicine, Dean Gloria Donnelly of the College of Nursing and Health Professions and Dean Marla Gold of the School of Public Health, our academic programs have helped you unlock your potential to improve the world through the practice of medicine, the pursuit of knowledge and your dedication to patient care.

You are about to join a distinguished group: Drexel University alumni/ae. I hope that you will remain a resource and advocate for the University, and serve as a role model for succeeding generations of students.

On behalf of Drexel University, congratulations and best wishes!

Constantine Papadakis, Ph.D.
