Dr. David C. Leach
Executive director of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
Dr. David C. Leach will receive a Doctor of Medical Science, honoris causa. ACGME sets standards for and accredits the nation's 7,800 medical residency programs. Theorizing that healthcare providers need certain core competencies to offer the best possible care to patients, Dr. Leach has developed a system to improve graduate medical education by instructing the 100,000 residents in accredited programs in these core competencies, and then measuring the efficacy and quality of teaching. |
