UNIV 101 is a mandatory course designed to maximize the student's potential to succeed in the classroom and to manage the challenges presented in college and professional life. Although each college/school determines most of the course content, there are several desirable core elements that will enable the University to achieve the learning outcomes for UNIV 101. Additionally, the Undergraduate Student Government Association (UGSA), in consultation with the Office of the Provost, has suggested at least two new items for consideration in UNIV101. These core topics for this course include the following:

  • Drexel History
  • Student Involvement
  • Time Management
  • Library, research and study skills
  • Alcohol/drug awareness
  • Sexual responsibility
  • Financial management
  • Personal safety and security
  • Introduction to Drexel policies and procedures
  • Introduction to college/major
  • City of Philadelphia/Cultural Passport
  • Civic Engagement
