Athletics are a big part of our campus culture. Each year, more than 9,000 students participate in club or intramural sports. Our list of athletic opportunities is impressive — you'll find everything from ultimate frisbee to track to rugby to water polo. The options are available and the level of participation is up to you.
Varsity – Drexel offers 18 Division I Varsity sports: Basketball (men and women); Crew (men and women); Field Hockey (women); Golf (men); Lacrosse (men and women); Soccer (men and women); Softball (women); Squash (men and women); Swimming and Diving (men and women); Tennis (men and women); and Wrestling (men).
Intramural – Highly popular and totally fun, intramural sports allow you to compete against other Drexel students. Students of all levels face off in activities such as dodgeball and flag football.
Club – If you're feeling a bit more competitive, join one of the University's club teams. Drexel Club Teams provide students with the opportunity to compete against local colleges and universities, but not at the Division I level.
Recreation Center – One of the most recent campus additions, the Rec Center is a state-of-the-art 240,000-square-foot fitness complex. Students can stay active by taking outdoor yoga classes, swimming a few laps in the six-lane pool, or climbing the rock wall.
Fields, Turf, and a Couple of Courts – Don't worry, if you prefer outdoor sports, Drexel has a few places you'll probably enjoy. Warm weather will bring students out to Buckley Green, which houses two beach volleyball courts. Not too far from the Green, students can play tennis on one of two courts. Located in the heart of campus, Buckley Field is the prime spot to play a late-night game of soccer. Die-hard Dragons fans can join the DAC Pack in the stands at the Daskalakis Athletic Center (the DAC) or at Vidas Athletic Complex.
