Prepare to Excel

At Drexel, we understand that students come from diverse backgrounds and that the transition to college life and academics can be one of the most challenging steps of your life. In order to support you as you come to campus, the following opportunity will help you prepare for and acclimate to life at Drexel, build relationships with students and faculty, and excel in your college career.

Freshman Academic Seminar: A Social Learning Community

Freshman Academic Seminar is a new learning community of approximately 200 students from select majors across the University in which students and faculty together create a team learning experience that will benefit you both academically and socially during your first year at Drexel and beyond. You will still be an active part of the cohort of students in your college and major and on the same academic track, but the program offers additional personal attention through smaller classes and dedicated faculty advisors, as well as special social activities to help you build relationships within the learning community. Freshman Academic Seminar is designed to enhance your learning experience and help you excel by supporting closer working relationships with faculty and other students and developing your ability to integrate knowledge from various disciplines.
