DREXEL GREEN REPORTS • Drexel Green First Six Months Report This report examines the kinds of initiatives that were undertaken at Drexel University over the first six months of the Drexel Green Program, from January to June of 2008. DREXEL BIKE SHAREDrexel Bike Share is now available to students, faculty and staff to check out a bike, for FREE, for a few hours or a weekend. The Bike Share program is administered through the Parking Services Office, located in the Parking Garage, suite 124, where bikes are checked out and returned. Click here for more information. Drexel Libraries has begun efforts to make our libraries more environmentally-friendly. In addition a physical archive of vegetable and flower seeds is being created. The Libraries’ Greening Blog is used track our progress, broadcast local environmental news and events, and provides regular tips for greener living. An online Environmental Research Guide offers direction on search strategies, books, databases, reliable websites and blogs offering information on environmental sustainability.Click here to download the Greening of Drexel Libraries poster highlighting some of its initiatives.
DREXEL SMART HOUSE
Drexel Smart House is a multidisciplinary group of students working to construct an urban home to serve as a "living laboratory". Smart House will explore the research and design of environmental interactions, health, efficiency, entertainment, and communication with the ultimate goal of improving life. DREXEL ENERGY CLUB DEC seeks to foster understanding of the technological, economic, environmental and sociopolitical issues surrounding energy generation and use. Among the relevant issues are clean and renewable energy technologies, the economic and environmental impacts of existing and future energy technologies and the global impact of energy systems in society.
