USGBC is composed of more than 15,000 organizations from across the building industry that are working to advance structures that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work. ENERGY STAR brings proven energy management strategy to distinguish colleges and universities as environmental leaders. Society for College and University Planning The Society for College and University Planning, established in 1965, is a collegial community dedicated to sharing, learning, and teaching best practices in planning for colleges and universities. SCUP takes a holistic view of planning; as its name implies, it embraces the full spectrum of planning functions at a postsecondary institution, including, but not limited to: academic, campus or master facilities, budgeting and financial resources, infrastructure, and strategic. EPA Green Power Partnership The EPA Green Power Partnership is a voluntary program that supports the organizational procurement of green power by offering expert advice, technical support, tools and resources. Green Globes The Green Globes system is a revolutionary building environmental design management tool. It delivers an online assessment protocol, rating system and guidance for green building design, operation and management. It provides market recognition of a building’s environmental attributes through third-party verification. Green Globes offers an industry standard assessment of construction projects to ensure that they are following environmental best practices. The system monitors key areas of design, construction and operation, including energy, water, resources, emissions and indoor environment. Drexel University is the first university in the country to commit to using “Green Globes,” the Green Building Initiative’s independent environmental impact monitoring system, comprehensively through university policy, for all new construction and existing campus buildings.
