Join fellow students, faculty, staff and alumni who are pledging to take personal steps to
incorporate sustainability into their everyday lives, which will have a collective impact in
improving the quality of life for everyone.
As part of Drexel University’s initiative to encourage the development of environmental awareness practices and creative thinking with regard to sustainability issues, the University will award more than $25,000 in Drexel Green Grants for the 2009/10 academic year to students and $2,500 in Barnes & Noble gift cards to faculty, staff and alumni who have pledged to take part in Drexel University sustainability initiatives.
Drexel Green Grants will be awarded through a random drawing.
To be considered for a Drexel Green Grant:
Current students, faculty, staff and alumni must complete the Go Green! Environmental Responsibility Pledge in hard copy or online here during Earth Month (April) 2009. Accepted 2009/10 students will be eligible for a Drexel Green Grant by completing the pledge during New Student Orientation in July and August 2009.
Students
All full-time or part-time undergraduate and graduate students are eligible for one of twenty-three $1,000 Drexel Green Grants. Accepted incoming students will be eligible for one of three $500 Drexel Green Grants.
Drexel Green Grants awarded to students may be applied to tuition, fees, room and board and the University Bookstore. The award is not refundable as a cash transaction.
Applicants should still file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by their required deadlines to be eligible for other financial assistance, the amount of this award will become part of a student’s financial aid package. Notification of other financial assistance will be separate from notification of a Drexel Green Grant.
Faculty, Staff and Alumni
All full-time or part-time faculty and staff, and alumni are eligible for one of five $500 Drexel Green Grants.
Drexel Green Grants awarded to faculty, staff and alumni will be in the form of a Barnes & Noble gift card. The award is not refundable as a cash transaction.
