Refunds

In the case that a student has a change of plans for personal, academic, or family issues, they are permitted to withdraw their application before acceptance, decline their acceptance into the program prior to deposit, or withdraw from the program after confirming their acceptance. The Study Abroad Refund Policy outlines the financial liability of students, depending on the exact time period they withdraw from the program.

Study Abroad Deposits

For most Drexel sponsored programs, once students have been accepted, they must confirm their acceptance by submitting a $500 non-refundable deposit to the Study Abroad Office. Students may choose to decline their acceptance. However, all deposits once made are non-refundable unless the student is not granted final acceptance by their host university or program provider.

Advance Program Fee Payments

Some Drexel sponsored programs require students to submit an advance payment toward their study abroad program fee along with application. Students will only be refunded their deposit and/or advance program fee payment if they are NOT accepted into the program. Otherwise, all deposits and advance program fee payments are non-refundable.

To understand the refund policy for specific study abroad programs, please refer to the Study Abroad Refund Policy agreement. Students participating in Independent Study Abroad programs must adhere to the refund policy of the host institution or service provider.
