The New Student and Family Programs (NSFP) Office provides quality programs and services that enhance the first year experience at Drexel University. Through strategic partnerships with family members and key university stakeholders, the office works to support the matriculation, transition, and retention of all new, undergraduate students.

NEW STUDENT PROGRAMS

New Student Orientation

Welcome to Drexel University! All Drexel University students are required to attend New Student Orientation. Registration opens 2 months before each Orientation date.

Spring Orientation - Week of April 2 – 6, 2012

  • Updated information is available now on the Orientation website.
  • Spring Orientation is designed for transfer and international students beginning classes in the spring term.

Summer Orientation - July – August 2012

  • Registration opens in May 2012. Specific dates are available on the Orientation website.
  • Summer Orientation sessions 1 – 9 are designed for first-time freshman students and families beginning classes in the fall term, while session 10 is designed for transfer students and families beginning classes in the fall term.

Fall Orientation - September 19 – 20, 2012

  • Fall Orientation is designed for transfer and international students and families beginning classes in the fall term.

Winter Orientation - Friday, January 4, 2013

  • Winter Orientation is designed for transfer and international students and families beginning classes in the winter term.

SCVNGR

SCVNGR (pronounced, scavenger) is a mobile phone application that is used to send students on a series of treks that allow them to explore Drexel University and the City of Philadelphia while learning about campus history and traditions and earning points for some awesome prizes.

  • SCVNGR is used during New Student Orientation, New Student Days, and Family Weekend to help familiarize new students and families with campus.
  • Information about new treks for the entire student population will be posted throughout the year.

The Family Program at New Student Orientation

While family members are welcome to attend all Orientation sessions, family-specific sessions are only available during Summer Orientation. Visit the New Student Orientation website for detailed information.

Family Weekend

Family Weekend is November 2 – 4, 2012.
Detailed information will be posted in September.
Family Weekend is open to all family members of current Drexel University students.

Drexel NOW Family Newsletter
The Drexel NOW Family Newsletter is published in collaboration with the Office of University Communications and is emailed to family members of current Drexel students on approximately the 15th day of every month.
