Sarah Michelson

Hi everyone! My name is Sarah Michelson and I am a senior biology major who intends to go to medical school to become a physician-scientist. Throughout my time at Drexel, I have been extremely involved on campus by participating in numerous extracurricular activities. As a passionate photographer, I have acted as the president of the Drexel University Photography Club and as an assistant photography editor for The Triangle. I have also participated in the DAC Pack and Beta Beta Beta Biological Honors Society as an executive board member. In my free time, I enjoy playing sports, going to Phillies games, and traveling the world. I would love to be the 2012 Drexel University Homecoming Queen because I believe that Drexel has provided me with endless opportunities for personal and professional growth over the last four years. Now, I would like to give back to the Drexel community by becoming an advocate for the school, and I hope that the student body will support me in my endeavors.

Katie Ohene

Hello Everyone! My name is Katie Ohene, and I am running to be your Homecoming Queen. I am senior within the College of Arts and Sciences studying Psychology who loves being a Drexel Dragon. Drexel has been place that has shaped me into the person I am today. Through my numerous activities and job opportunities, I have been able to shape what the Drexel experience has meant to me. Drexel has taught me how to become a well-rounded person in a diverse community where everyone has the chance to flourish. I have been involved in many activities on campus such as the Drexel Student Ambassadors, Resident Assistant position, and Sigma Sigma Sigma National Sorority, and have learned what it’s like to carry on the Drexel tradition. If elected your Homecoming Queen, I know I can continue keeping the Drexel traditions alive and share them with the Drexel community.

My name is Melissa Reilly.  I am a 5th year senior, majoring in Communication: Corporate & Public Relations. I am from the suburbs of Philadelphia and attended Saint Basil Academy.  I am a sister of Delta Phi Epsilon, an OCA Leadership Assistant, a founding member of the Student Alumni Association, often seen in Creese 215, SORC and Starbucks and currently finishing up my last week as the president of the Panhellenic Council. Drexel has "educated my whole person".  Not only have I grown as a student, but I have learned how to be a better leader and how to be a well-rounded person.  Drexel has given me so much, so I would love the opportunity to represent our fabulous student body!

Anthony D’Angelo

My name is Anthony D’Angelo and I am a senior, Sport Management major.  I am originally from South Philadelphia and I am the second two term president of the DAC Pack.  I have brought several new wrinkles to the DAC Pack during my tenure, including the streamer toss at the end of games and the ever-popular Ladies’ Night.  I have worked hard to make the DAC the loudest rowdiest arena in the CAA.  I was one of the driving forces behind the Dragon Concert Series which brings three concerts a year to Drexel’s campus, including Midnight Madness featuring Chiddy Bang.  I am also a national anthem singer for our varsity sports teams, many of you may have seen me perform before men’s basketball games.  Drexel University has been very good to me during my five years here and this would be a tremendous opportunity for me be an ambassador for Drexel and my fellow students.

I am a fourth year senior majoring in chemistry and will be graduating this June. For the past 3 years I have worked as an RA with our freshmen students and have watched a new breed of Drexel student develop. I also have an overwhelming pride in Drexel athletics and attend any and all sporting events here on campus. I have always loved Drexel University and the community that exists within its campus and I am excited to be a part of one of the most dynamic universities in the world. It is an honor to be named to the homecoming court and I am more than proud of everyone and everything here at Drexel.

James Hamalian

Hey Drexel! My name is James Hamalian, pronounced “Ham-alien,” and I am a Sophomore Finance and Accounting student enrolled in the Pennoni Honors College and the LeBow College of Business. I am also a die-hard Drexel Dragon running to be your 2012 Homecoming King! Since my first fall term last year, I have become involved in many student organizations and campus-wide initiatives including the Good Idea Fund, the Drexel Finance Association, the Student Ambassadors Program, and this year’s Drexel Traditions Homecoming Concert. Drexel has given me so many opportunities to meet students from around the world and work together to succeed, grow, and reach unified goals.  If I am elected as your Homecoming King, I will work with you to sustain Drexel’s traditions during this period of rapid University-wide expansion.
