Parents & Families
Parent and family support plays a vital role as freshmen and transfer students adjust to life at Drexel. We value parents and family members as partners in helping your student succeed at Drexel. Therefore, we are offering Orientation sessions dedicated to parents and families in order to respond to your specific needs.
Freshmen and Transfer Student Orientation is required for students, so the cost of their attendance is covered. Students may bring a maximum of two guests for no additional charge. This will include:
- All meals (1 breakfasts, 1 lunch) and refreshments throughout the sessions
- Informational panels and workshops about campus resources available to your students
- An opportunity to have access to university administrators, current students, and other parents and families who can answer questions specific to the Drexel experience
- Printed materials (Parent and Family Guide, Calendar) to help you throughout the academic year
Attending Orientation will also give you an opportunity to learn more about joining the Drexel Family Association. This association offers parents and families the following benefits throughout the year:
- Direct connection to the university when you have a question or need assistance;
- Opportunities to work with Admissions, Orientation, and Family Weekend;
- Participation in the Drexel University Family Association discussion e-mail listserv and bulletin boards;
- Opportunity to join the Family Association Advisory Council and help shape the organization;
- Build community among current and prospective students and parents, faculty, staff and friends of the University;
- Satisfaction!...from knowing that you are actively supporting programs and services that directly benefit Drexel students.
