OCA TeamThe Office of Campus Activities (OCA) supports student engagement in co-curricular pursuits that complement academic, co-op, and professional experiences.  Additionally, OCA facilitates involvement in student organizations, leadership programming, social and educational activities, and alternative spring break.  We do so at the University City and Center City campuses.

In our daily work, we:

  • Champion student interests
  • Provide time to encourage, counsel, and advise
  • Develop rapport to educate through challenge and support
  • Articulate policy
  • Foster student learning and growth

We educate, engage, inspire, and transform – these core values guide our practice:

  • Educate – through our collaborative work and interaction with students, we view our role as mentors and our initiatives serve as a laboratory to support student growth and development.
  • Engage – we believe through student organizations, leadership development programming, service and philanthropic activities, and campus programming, students take an active and important role in our community and build a lifelong commitment to Drexel University.
  • Inspire – we enjoy working with college students and as such, our energy, sincerity, and commitment inspires students to pursue co-curricular opportunities.
  • Transform – as educators, engagers, and inspirers, we strive to create and foster transformative experiences that impact the whole person.

We espouse these values in all we do, but also believe strongly that these words have parallel impact on students.  Students who consciously choose to engage and commit will become:

  • Educated – co-curricular involvement builds social and communication skills, time management and organization abilities, self-awareness, civic responsibility, and professional competencies.
  • Engaged – students that proactively take advantage of all that Drexel has to offer, become well-rounded individuals who make an effect on campus and beyond.
  • Inspired – motivated students lead, act as role models, and mentor their peers … leadership, energy, and knowledge is shared, resulting in a positive impact on others and our community.
  • Transformed – students who are connected to life beyond the classroom are more successful, more satisfied and well-rounded, and upon graduation, have added skills and experiences that enhance their resume – their lives are re-engineered and changed for the better.

OCA does not work in a silo or vacuum – we collaborate effectively with campus partners to ensure student success.  These stakeholders include, but are not limited to:
