Graduate Student Information

Information for Parents and Families

Parents and families are more than welcome to attend (free of charge) and will follow the same schedule as their student; however, the Graduate Student Orientation Schedule is designed particularly for in-coming graduate students.

Dragon Card ID

Due to the fast paced schedule for Graduate Student Orientation, time to receive your Dragon Card Student ID has not been scheduled.

You will be able to take your Dragon Card ID picture on Monday, September 14th before Graduate Student Orientation Registration begins at 2:00 PM at the Dragon Card ID Office. You may also take your picture and receive your ID at any time during the week of September 14th.

The Dragon Card ID Office is located at the Creese Student Center (32nd and Chestnut Streets) in the Main Lobby (1st Floor). The Office is open 8-5 PM Monday – Friday and on September 19th and 20th the Office will be open from noon – 4:00 PM

Please Bring the Following when you take your ID picture:

  • Unexpired Government-Issued Photo ID, US Driver's License, State-Issued ID Card, Passport, or US Military ID. One form of ID is required to get your DragonCard ID; photocopies are not accepted

If You Need to Attend Late or Can Not Attend at All

We realize that many graduate students have work and family responsibilities that may keep you from attending the afternoon workshops and activities, or attending at all.

We highly suggest you make time to attend all sessions in person; however, we will:

  • Have a second registration time from 5:15 - 5:45 PM at the Edmund D. Bossone Research Enterprise Center Lobby at 32nd and Market Streets on the University City Campus.
  • Be web-streaming the Welcome and Ph.D. Advising Sessions LIVE, and record the additional workshops throughout the day, which will be posted on the Graduate Student Website proceeding Orientation.
