Awards
The Chapter Achievement Plan is the annual recognition process for Fraternities and Sororities at Drexel University . Each recognized fraternity and sorority must complete a Chapter Achievement Plan to maintain their status on campus.
The purpose is to provide an opportunity for each chapter to compare itself to specific standards of excellence, to highlight activities and programs, and to receive recognition for outstanding accomplishments that have been achieved throughout the past year.
The top chapters in each council that demonstrate the greatest success and achievement though their Chapter Achievement Plan will be awarded The Dean's Cup.
There are eight sections in the Chapter Achievement Plan, seven of which are scored:
Values and Identity - (Not scored) This allows chapters to provide information about founding, purpose, and values. The purpose is to provide the chapter a chance to describe their identity and give background to the judges. This information may be referenced throughout the application.
Statistics -(up to 24 pts) This includes reported and documented programming hours (per person) related to community service, philanthropy, educational programming, social programming, and fundraising. This also includes the chapter's performance related to retention.
Chapter Management - (78 pts) This includes questions about the basic day to day operations of the chapter. Information regarding constitutions, meetings, structure and financials will be required.
Programming - (68 pts) The five subcategories of Academics, Community Service, Educational, Social, and Fundraising allows chapters to describe events and initiatives the chapter has taken in the past year. Only programs reported to the Office of the Dean of Students through Programming Verification Forms will be permitted to be used.
Community Relations - (22 pts) The chapter's relations to the Drexel and Philadelphia communities, as well as members' families, will be reviewed in this section.
Membership Development - (32 pts) This includes the outreach and education of potential, new, current, and alumni members.
Citizenship - (32 pts) Risk management and general conduct will be assessed through this section.
Presentation/DVD Chapter Response - (25 pts) Chapters will be required to submit a DVD which provides the answer to a question posed related to the Drexel University fraternity/sorority community.
