You’re invited to experience the Drexel Drunk Driving Simulator!!!!
On October 15th Drexel University will host the AWARE III Portable Road Simulator which models the road, while using an actual vehicle. Students will drive onto a computer-controlled road simulator ramp. The simulator recreates not only typical every day situations encountered frequently while on the road (e.g. driving in the rain, haze, manipulating car on crowded highways, exits), but also the most extreme of conditions (e.g. driving on ice, driving intoxicated, emergency maneuvers), while preserving both car and driver safety.
After you drive the simulation sober, the program will reset and then it will take a third factor which is drinks per hour and it will compute your body type, gender and drinks per hour. The computer system uses an Alger-rhythm to do so and it will make you drive 100% as if you were intoxicated at that level.
At the end of your simulation it will display your blood alcohol level and every infraction that you caused while drinking and driving as if an officer was behind you the whole time writing down everything that you have done wrong. We will have monitors set up around the simulator and it will show students standing around the simulator a passenger's eye view of the drunk driver and how they are reacting to the alcohol as well as blood alcohol level and infractions caused from the simulations.
