John came to Drexel in 1996 to work with the Student Support Services program before joining the Counseling Center as a Staff Counselor later that same year. While at Drexel John has come to develop a specific appreciation and respect for Drexel students. John has been heavily involved in alcohol and other drug initiatives and now serves as the Director of Alcohol, Other Drug, and Health Education as well as the Assistant Director of Counseling. He has expanded this experience and become involved in regional and national programs including serving as a member of the Planning Committee of the U.S. Department of Education’s Annual National Meeting on Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse and Violence Prevention in Higher Education from 2003 – 2005 when he served as the Co-Chair of the National Meeting.
Currently John is the Regional Director for the DE-NJ-PA region of The Network Addressing Collegiate Alcohol and Other Drug Issues as well as a member of their Executive Committee and serves on the Board of Directors for the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education representing the Network. John also works a great deal with the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender students serving as a past advisor for LGBT student groups, working with students individually, and presenting at regional and national conferences on many topics including working with LGBT students. John is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania and also an Adjunct Assistant Professor for the Psychology and Health Services and Administration Departments. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Christina University in 1989 and his Master of Science degree from Villanova University in 1996.
