Social Justice Week 2014: We Believe

Wednesday, April 30, 2014

12:30 PM-1:30 PM

Join Hillel and the Jewish Student Association to learn more about the American Jewish World Service’s new legislation - the International Violence Against Women Act. This act would permanently integrate gender-based violence prevention and response into all U.S. government programming overseas. In order for legislation to pass, it is necessary for people to call their local congressmen and senators expressing their support for the bill. Students will have the opportunity to sign the petition in favor of this legislation as well as take pictures of themselves expressing why they believe in this campaign.

This program is a part of Social Justice Week 2014, a week full of educational presentations that will help our community advance in the pursuit of social justice, sponsored by the Student Center for Inclusion and Culture, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Hillel, Lindy Center for Civic Engagement and Residential Living Office.
