Black History Month - Black Women in Media

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

8:00 PM-9:00 PM

Everyone loves Scandal. And many people are getting hip to the new BET series "Being Mary Jane". However, the black women who serve as the main characters on these shows encompass complex combinations of stunning beauty, undeniable corporate success and questionable sexual prowess and decision-making. Join us and the Gamma Epsilon Philadelphia City Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. as we discuss black female representation on television and in the media, and the effects it has on our community and how others view us.
