In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, the Drexel community is invited to attend a lunchtime discussion with acclaimed Peruvian Andean poet Odi Gonzales, whose poetry collection Birds on the Kiswar Tree (2Leaf Press, 2014) was just published in a bilingual Spanish/English edition with translation by Drexel adjunct associate professor of English Lynn Levin. The event will include a bilingual reading, book signing, and a discussion with the poet moderated by Drexel adjunct instructor of Spanish Roger Santiváñez. Dr. Abioseh Porter, head of Drexel’s English and Philosophy Department, will provide welcoming remarks. The event is sponsored by the Office of Equality of Diversity, Office of International Programs, Student Center for Inclusion and Culture, Office of Faculty Development and Equity, and the Department of English and Philosophy. The first 20 people to rsvp will receive a free copy of Birds on the Kiswar Tree compliments of the Office of International Programs.
